In midst of the clock region it becomes evident how intensive the Black Forest is characterized by the clock industry. From the sun dial clock to an atomic clock, from the precious pendulum to the kitchen clock – this famous collection presents also an international overall perspective in view of time measuring possibilities.

Schramberg
Stadtmuseum
The city museum is located in a classic castle of mid 19th century. The exhibition of castles, stoneware, straw braiding and particularly clocks with the development Histories of Schramberg is divided into four different departments. Next to the typical Black Forest clocks, the industrially manufactured time measuring devices are of main emphasis. A true highlight is of course the 4 m in height measuring Artur-Junghans art clock of the year 1900.

Dieselmuseum
Inside the former Hamburg American Clock Factory (H.A.U.) Here in Schramberg a unique four cylinder 325 PS MAN-Diesel power station of the year 1911 may be admired. This aggregate, which had been implemented for power producing until into the sixties, is exhibited in a machine room, designed by Philipp Jakob Manz.

Uhrenindustriemuseum
Presentation of the step by step manufacturing of a historic alarm clock and a multitude of clock industry products made in this region. The visitor may also experience the strength of a clock inside the visitor laboratory and finally, the historic collection of clock work principles can be inspected.

Waldkirch
Elztalmuseum
Waldkirch is the center of the mechanic music works. As a continued development of flute clocks, the first barrel organs and hurdy-gurdies were built here more than 200 years ago. An interesting collection of these nostalgic instruments can be admired in the Elztal museum. The museum is a member of the museum pass France, Switzerland and Germany.
