active group of staff members along a line-up of villages, museums and several clock manufacturers. This stretch of road –
similar to a string of pearls – is including museums of
high interest and delightful sights centered around the Black
Forest clock. Clock factories, workshops and studios of clock
shield painters allow the visitor an extensive and informative
insight to their daily routine.
Yet, this delightful landscape offers a lot more. The charm of
shingle roofed Black Forest farm houses, clear trout creeks, lush
mountain meadows and dark green forests, picturesque villages and some cozy little towns will be full of enjoyment on your way
along the "Deutsche Uhrenstraße".
Many delicious surprises, offered by the local culinary trade
will await you. Delicious specialties, prepared with regional
products and the hearty Black Forest ham, the farmhouse bread,
baked in wood heated ovens, and of course spirits made of and full of the aromatic flavor of plums or cherries. and by all means,
do not miss the world famous ”Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte”.
